Overview
Google may route internal mail externally causing an issue with Proofpoint Essential's spoof protection.
There are two options to prevent this:
- Disable spoof protection OR
- Add Google Apps to the sending server list.
How To Disable Spoof Protection
- Navigate to Security Settings > Email > Spam Settings.
- Disable Inbound domain spoofing protection.
- Enable Update spam detection settings above for all existing user accounts. This is located at the very bottom of the page.
- Click Save.
Add Google Apps To Sending Server List
ENABLING OUTBOUND RELAYING
- Navigate to Administration > Account Management > Features.
- Enable Enable Outbound relaying.
- Click Save.
ADDING GOOGLE APP'S HOSTED SERVICES
- Navigate to Administration > Account Management > Domains.
- Under Sending Servers, click Manage Hosted Services.
- Enable Google Apps buy clicking the circle next to it. It will turn blue when enabled.
- Click Save.
