Active Directory Error Codes
When running a manual sync of Active Directory and set-up configuration there are sometimes error codes and issues that may occur. Below are some of them outlined and potential resolutions before contacting Technical Support.
Errors And Troubleshooting Steps:
Error - “Could Not Bind Privileged User. Ldap Error Code =-1 – Can’t Contact LDAP Server”
- Make sure all of Proofpoint Essential IP ranges are correctly whitelisted on your firewall: (Including the 148.xxx breakdown). For a list of IP addresses
- Under ACTIVE DIRECTORY CONNECTION SETTINGS, ensure the Username is a Domain Admin for that domain.
- Ensure TLS is enabled. We use TLS version 1.2 or newer.
Error - LDAP Binding Failed With The Following Error: 'Invalid Credentials'
- Confirm that the username and password are correct.
